The year is 2500, the 25th century of Mankind. Due to the terroristic uprising of an unknown species of alien technology known only as "The Corruption," the good people of Earth have been forced to live underground an underground city known as "The Ark" for the last 300 years of their existence. 

Humanity's ingenuity and adaptivity have created an advanced series of automatic-synthetic-lifeforms, known as Asyncs, to combat the growing forces of The Corruption and to fight against the ecological disasters that make the surface inhospitable for human life. These Asyncs are given the duties to protect and serve, along with limited rights to normalize their place in the world as thinking, feeling beings.

Today, the war with the Corruption is unyielding. Countless Asyncs are being slaughtered and re-constructed on in a never ending cycle to feed the gears of war, while every inch of surface reclaimed in one region leads to two more inches being reclaimed by the Corruption or mother nature herself. Civil unrest within the Ark has people on edge, while the line between Human and Machine grows ever blearier as Asyncs awake to a world where they are created to serve, past memories of bloodshed and violence having left traces in their minds.
